What is First Friday?

On the first Friday of each month, galleries, studios, and culturally-oriented businesses celebrate the arts across Indianapolis. At the Circle City Industrial Complex, this is the night that our individual studio artists open their doors to the public and our large galleries debut work of local or national artists. Most of the art is available for purchase, but buying is not required to enjoy the event. An open studio door is an invitation to come in, so don’t be shy!

Don’t know anything about art? No problem! First Friday isn’t just for art nerds. Visitors can explore wood and metal shops, enjoy beverages at Centerpoint Brewing or 8th Day Distillery, experience live music or dance, and so much more. Our event is FREE and open to all ages (with the exception of ATF regulated establishments).

We know: our building is confusing. On the upside, getting a little lost here is a great opportunity to stumble upon a hidden gem. Here are some tips for getting around:

PARKING
Free parking is available in our two parking lots. There is a small (80 car) lot located in front on Centerpoint Brewing and a four acre lot located a little further down the street on Brookside Avenue. The large lot is closer to the studios and galleries

STUDIO/GALLERY LOCATIONS
The CCIC’s art studios and galleries are located in the central portion of the building across the street from our large parking lot on Brookside Avenue. The majority of studios are located on the second floor, which is accessible through entrances 3 or 4. Click here for a building map. Follow the “ART” signs throughout the building to studio and gallery spaces.

PET POLICY
Many of our studios and galleries are small spaces with fragile items. Only service animals are permitted in studio and gallery areas.
